Testing Procedures

The following is a brief explanation of the exam registration process for the State of Indiana Exam. To register for the State of Michigan exam, you will need to contact Thomson Prometric directly at (800) 742-8736 or www.prometric.com. See http://www.michagent.org/education/licens.htm for specific information that you will need to register.

Registering for your exam in the State of Indiana:

Effective January 3, 2007, the student/candidate must register, schedule and pay for the insurance exam through the new online IDOI exam registration system. The address for this is: https://idoi.vitapowered.com/login.screen

At the site, you will:
- Create a login and password
- Enter your personal information
- Take an IDOI required pre-test
- Enter your credit card information
- Read the scheduling procedures and choose “I Agree”
- Then choose the desired date and location to take the exam

Get a good night’s rest the night before and DON’T cram!
Bring government-issued photo identification
Arrive 15 minutes prior to appointment

Reinstatement of Insurance Producer License:
If license has expired and it is:
- LESS THAN 12 months, AND Producer has acquired the required CE (40 hours), Producer pays triple the renewal fee.
- LESS THAN 12 months, and Producer has NOT acquired the required CE (40 hours), Producer must complete the required CE, pay triple the renewal fees, and take the state law portion of the exam.
- MORE THAN 12 months, the license cannot be reinstated without starting all over (take the course, pass the exam, and reapply for a license).

Note: If a P&C license has expired and a L&H license is desired, the Producer must either satisfy the requirements to reinstate the P&C license as outlined above OR put in writing their desire to cancel the P&C license (or visa versa).
